Durham’s senior men’s team will represent the north in the English County Finals after successfully defending the Northern Counties Seniors’ County Qualifying title at City of Newcastle Golf Club.
Durham successfully defended the title they won for the first time in 2023 on the Isle of Man with a 22 over-par total in the 36-hole, best-five-from-six event.
The team of Anthony Black, John Kennedy, Nicholas Mansell, Stuart Brown, John Kirkpatrick and Nigel King will go on to represent the north at the English Senior Men’s County Finals at Torquay Golf Club October 8-10.
Meanwhile, Durham’s John Kennedy was the best individual player with a two-round score of level par (71-73) as winds gusted to 50mph at the Northumberland venue.
In the team event, Northumberland finished second with a team total of 25 over-par, while Lancashire finished third on 35 over-par.
