Disabled golfers inspired by England Golf’s Performance Experience Days

England Golf’s Performance Experience Days provided an opportunity to engage with the next generation of talented disabled golfers, with events held at Chesfield Downs (August 2), The Warwickshire (August 3), Sherfield Oaks (September 6), and The Manor in Leeds (October 11).

Across the four events, more than 120 disabled golfers were introduced to the Disability Performance Pathway, gaining first-hand insight into the opportunities which exist to progress within the game.

Participants had the chance to meet and interact with members of the England Golf Disability Performance Team, learn more about performance golf, and obtain their EDGA Player Passes, helping them take the next step in their golfing journey.

The events built on the momentum generated by England’s summer success at the European Team Championships in Italy, where England won gold medals, and the championship trophies were at each event.

Tom Dobson, England Golf’s disability manager, said: “It’s fantastic to have the opportunity to build on our recent European Team Championship and Nations Cup successes, further strengthen our commitment to the Disability Performance Pathway, and inspire future disabled golfers to represent England at international events. The Performance Experience Days are also a valuable opportunity to meet new disabled golfers, understand their journeys within the sport, and explore how we can better support their development and participation.

“Through initiatives such as these, England Golf continues to strengthen the Disability Performance Pathway and inspire future generations to pursue their ambitions in the game.”
