Morpeth’s David Clark won his fourth Northumberland & Durham Open title at Close House, leading an elite field of the region’s best professionals and amateurs.
David’s rounds of 71 on the Filly course and 70 on the Colt Course saw him lead the field of 52 players by a single shot as Craig Goodfellow finished in second place. Amateur Martin McCririck finished in a tie for third place alongside Michael Pilgrim.
Meanwhile, pros from across the region got their hands on winners’ cheques in recent pro ams.
At Teesside, John Harrison led the way with a three under-par round of 69 as Martin Forster and James Maw finished in a tie for second place, two shots back.
At Cockermouth, Craig Goodfellow took home the top prize with a superb six under-par round of 63 as Nicky Maddison finished in second place. John Harrison and Will Robson shared third.
With his win at Close House, David rose to the top of the NE/NW PGA Mizuno Order of Merit – just ahead of Craig Goodfellow with Ken Ferrie in third place.
