Castle Eden Golf Club-based Chris Brown was crowned Durham County Golf Union Matchplay champion after six rounds of matches at Tyneside Golf Club.
Chris picked up the trophy for the first time following a 2up win over Dave Patterson (Seaham) in the event’s final.
The championship began with 64 players, and Chris won six matches to claim the trophy, including a 5&4 win over Aaron Scott (Heworth) in the semi-finals. Dave reached the final with a win over James Glenn (Bishop Auckland) at the first extra hole.
