DP World Tour member Andrew Wilson returned home and led the field in the North East & North West PGA’s Blackwell Grange pro am.
Andrew topped the leaderboard in the event, which was sponsored by SG Petch, with an eight under-par score of 44 points having returned home from Royal Birkdale, where he missed out on a spot in The Open in the Last-Chance Qualifier and had been on-site as a reserve.
Meanwhile, Simon Robinson and Jonathan Graham finished in a tie for second place with four under-par scores of 40 points as six players – David Clark, Paul Fiddes, James Maw, Peter Raine, Michael Skelton and Callum Tarren – finished two shots further back in a tie for fourth place.
The team event was won by amateurs Jack Sowerby, Jordan Grieves and Kaylem Sedgwick alongside professional Martyn Stubbings with a 20 under-par score of 92 points.
