The 2020protour is set for a busy year in 2026 – including the return of The Match at Ganton in April
The 2020protour has announced a packed schedule for 2026, including the third edition of The Match – which is set to take place at Ganton on Friday April 10 with tour players teaming up with celebrities and golf influencers to take on some of the county’s best amateurs.
The lineup for The Match is set to include John Parry, Dan Brown, Joe Dean, Dan Bradbury, Sam Bairstow and Josh Berry as well as Simon Dyson, Trey Niven, Dan Walker, Peter Finch, Gaz Beadle and Alex Elliott. The Yorkshire men’s county team will be confirmed ahead of the event – with players set to tee off at 1pm. Building on the success of last year’s event, there will be entertainment for spectators from 11am including clinics on the range. The event is free to attend, while parking (£10 per car) must be booked online at 2020protour.co.uk/the-match
“The Match was amazing last year, with some 1,500 spectators enjoying the event and a high level of golf from the pros and the amateurs,” said 2020protour co-founder Chris Hanson. “We’re praying for more good weather this spring and some more exciting golf.”
Meanwhile, the 2026 tour schedule will be split into four swings – starting on February 5 at Selby. Swing 1 will feature five one-day pro am events, ending at Wheatley on April 14.
Swing 2 includes the four-day Abu Dhabi pro am, a two-day event at Hill Valley and Portal, and visits to Hallowes and Sand Moor.
Swing 3 in June and July will include two-day events at Bradford and Shipley, Carus Green and Windermere, and Kenwick Park – plus a one-day event at Low Laithes.
The final swing has four one-day events followed by the three-day Tour Final, which returns in October in the Scottish Borders.
As well as the season-long points race, professional and elite amateur players will be competing for £1,000 cash bonuses at the end of each swing. The Amateur League, for players with handicaps of 3.5-28, will also return.
“We’re excited and optimistic,” added Chris. “We have lots of fresh partners and courses on board – as well as our existing sponsors and plenty of old favourites on the schedule. There are some changes to look forward to as well. We’ve got more two-day events, plus trips to Abu Dhabi and the Scottish Borders. The four swings throughout the season will keep things interesting for everyone too – with some great cash incentives and fantastic prizes from some of our partners for the players who win those.”
