Cricket World Cup winner Mark Wood has been made an honorary member of Longhirst Hall Golf Club.
Mark, from Ashington, was a key part of England’s win in this summer’s World Cup and was presented with his membership by Ashes winner Steve Harmison and Longhirst’s director of golf Graham Chambers.
“Mark is a local lad and we had to recognise his achievement,” said Graham. “We hope Mark’s story will inspire the next generation of sportsmen and women.”
