Golf courses change a great deal over the years. Trees that once posed little threat now tower over fairways, rough is added and removed to direct players to new lines, and many more subtle changes over the years add to the challenge.
Close House recently shared a series of photographs showing the changes to the estate in the last 10 years. The originals pre-date the construction of the Colt Course, venue for the British Masters in 2017. They also pre-date the construction of the clubhouse, and notably show the lake where the 18th green now sits.
Jonathan Lupton, managing director of Close House, said: “The transformation of the estate since owner Graham Wylie and the team began their work here in 2007 is truly remarkable.
“To see the fields where the Colt Course now stands and take in what has been created by architect Scott Macpherson and our greenstaff led by Brian Clark has been a great experience for all of us. We’re really excited to see where the next 10 years will take us.”
