Bedlingtonshire Golf Club’s 2023 captain Gary Dixon has handed over a cheque for £7,442 to St Oswald’s Hospice.
Gary chose to support St Oswald’s Hospice throughout his year as captain in memory of his mother-in-law, who died in the hospice’s care in 2015.
“I’m extremely thankful to everyone who helped us raise such an awesome amount of money for the hospice,” said Gary. “I’d especially like to thank Dan Hildreth, DHG Golf Coach, alongside Kieren and Rhys who completed 72 holes in a day. I also give thanks to Peter Stephenson, who ran the Great North Run and added his sponsorship to the total; Barry Dobey who walked around the golf course collecting lost golf balls and selling them for donations; John and Pam Lee for organising a charity night at Ashianna Restaurant in Bedlington; and the ladies section for their fundraising.”
